Things to Do in the Area

Aqualand St Cyprien

If you have younger children or teenagers with you who would like to have a day in a water park then the excellent Aqualand at St Cyprien is well worth a visit. This is a large waterpark with an excellent selection of pools and slides. Suitable for toddlers and teenagers. It is the largest waterpark in Roussillon.

Canet Aquarium

Local aquarium - great for younger children http://www.aquarium-canet.com

Vineyard Tour

Vineyard tour at Domaine Treloar. The owner is an Englishman, is very knowledgable and makes some excellent wines. We also had a lovely lunch there.

Perpignan

The lively city of Perpignan (13 km) is a short drive away northbound.

Luna Park (Argelès) - 19 km

The Luna Park offers carnival rides, bowling, karting, crazy golf etc - great fun - and some days it offers half price rides - worth checking!

Collioure (27 km)

collioure

The lovely small town of Collioure, near the Spanish border, is definitely worth a visit. It was famous for the painters Matisse and Picasso who painted here. It has some colourful narrow streets to wander through and you can admire the colourful boats at the harbour.

Carcassone: 115km - walled town that is well worth a visit

Sigean - Reserve Africaine

Safari park with over 3,000 animals ! See Lions and Zebras as you drive through. But it can get quite busy in high season so if you are there at a busy time maybe you'd be best to try and go early as the queues can build up as you drive through the animals.

Château de Peyrepertuse

You can drive to this château in the mountains near to Perpignan and enjoy the great views and surrounding countryside.

We cannot guarantee that reviews of descriptions on this site are accurate, up to date or free from error. We have found that the campsites described are very good but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for. Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including other review sites and Google maps etc.
