Things to Do in the Area
Loire Valley Chateaux
Domaine de Dugny sits right at the heart of the most splendid castles in France. Chateau de Chambord, 20 miles away is the most famous, and you’ll be spellbound by the several dramatic towers and its sheer size. You won’t forget this castle surrounded by French formal gardens and pretty lakes. Chaumont sur Loire castle, under 5 miles away is definitely worth a day trip too. What stands out isn’t just the grandiose, fortress like walls, but the beautiful gardens, which becomes a unique artistic space during the garden festival in summertime.
Pagode de Chanteloup
This classical looking pagoda is the remains of an old 18th century castle belonging to French statesman duc de Choiseul, but people today visit to walk up and see the beautiful views of the surrounding Loire Valley forest. Take a relaxing stroll in the peaceful Chinese garden.
Disneyland (230 km) (2 hours 45 minutes drive)
This magical place is the stuff of kids’ dreams. Meet your favourite Disney characters, take a thrilling ride on Space Mountain, or take a glimpse behind the scenes at the Walt Disney Studios Park. There’s plenty to do and you’ll be taken in by this magical dream made reality.
Blois, just 10 miles away is well-known for its splendid castle wedged in the middle of the city. This royal chateau has been home to more than a dozen kings and queens put together, so makes for a fascinating visit. You’ll see why when you go inside and see the fancy interiors, decorated in enormous tapestries and paintings. Don’t miss the astounding Son et Lumière show in summer, an image and light show narrating the castle’s history through image projections illuminated on the castle walls.

We cannot guarantee that reviews of descriptions on this site are accurate, up to date or free from error. We have found that the campsites described are very good but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for. Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including other review sites and Google maps etc.
