Description of Les Deux Fontaines Campsite
The Les Deux Fontaines campsite is situated near Nevez in South Brittany.

It is a wonderful quiet and
spacious site, particularly in low season.
However in High Season as there is a lot of extra
free space on this site, it shouldn't feel too crowded.
The site
itself is in fact built on an old apple orchard.
The owner is
famous for his Calvados Brandy which he makes from the apples !
There are orchards adjacent
to the site and it is possible to see these when you walk up
some of the lanes next to the site.
The campsite itself has been laid out with various themed areas, including a Breton theme and an exotic theme. So if you are taking your own tent you can decide which theme would suit you !
The Campsite is only 900m from a beautiful sandy beach, very aptly named "Tahiti Plage". By bike it is a 5 to 10 minute cycle and on foot, perhaps a 15 minute walk.

The facilities on this four star campsite are fantastic. The site is situated in 9 hectares of wooded parkland and many of the plots are surrounded by hedges which offer some privacy.

Most of the mobile home and tent plots are a good size but there is a great deal of extra space on this campsite, including a massive field for games. There are various activities organised in the months of June, July and August, including archery, football tournaments and volleyball. There is also a small pitch and putt golf course adjacent to the site as well as a tennis court. You can hire bikes on-site as well.

The site has a heated swimming pools with 4 waterslides, a water chute or flume and a paddling pool.

Other facilities on-site include :
- a bar with terrace overlooking the pool
- a well stocked shop with baguettes, croissants etc in the morning
- a takeaway
- laundry, showering and dishwashing facilities
- games and TV room
- main reception

- two or three playparks, one situated near the entrance, one more hidden in the big games field
- a skate park with a jump, a tabletop and a slide bar
- basketball, volleyball, table tennis and tennis courts as well as pitch and putt golf
- a large games field and a further field used by the campsite kids club for football etc.
- onsite Kids Club in July and August
- onsite Keycamp and Eurocamp Kids Clubs for Keycamp and Eurocamp customers. Check for opening times and age ranges.
- evening entertainment is often arranged and can include crepes evenings which are well worth attending, also quiz nights, karaoke and discos in the bar. There is a big screen TV in the bar if you want to follow any particular sporting events etc ! There is also the occasional live band.
- Grand Fetes ! Around the 22nd July and 12th August the site plans a grand fete with treasure hunts, grill evening, live bands and fireworks.

Things to Do in the Area
The
sign outside the campsite pointing to the Tahiti Plage beach.
The area is fairly good for cycling and the Keycamp and Eurocamp reps can give you details of cycle routes.
Nearby it is a fairly quiet area of Brittany but notable places to visit include the scenic village of Kerascoet, renowned for its thatched Breton cottages (chaumière is the French word for a cottage !). The village is car and cycle free so please walk through it. There is a very nice Creperie there called Ty Plouz, who make some delicious Breton crepes. The Creperie is not very large so may get busy in High Season. :

Nearby as well you will see the ancient Church at Trémorvézen.
If you are passing it, look out for the very old stained glass
windows.
There is a gastronomic restaurant nearby overlooking Tahiti Plage, The Ar Men Du which has a Breton Chef Patrick Le Guen. We did not get a chance to try this restaurant but it gets some very good reviews online at http://www.linternaute.com/restaurant/restaurant/77177/ar-men-du.shtml. If you do eat there, then let us know how you get on.
Another place definitely worth a visit is the Pointe de Trevignon (photographs below). The beaches all along the coast as you travel to Pointe de Trevignon from the campsite are all lovely and when you reach the Port at Pointe de Trevignon there are a few restaurants and creperies. The village itself is a very scenic, traditional seaside village which is well worth a look round.

Another place we enjoyed visiting was "Les Jardins de Rospico" - The Gardens of Rospico. A wide range of beautiful flowering plants had been cultivated on quite arid ground. For more information see the leaflet at : http://www.enpaysdelaloire.com/upload/fichiers/ParcsetJardins.pdf/

The Beach at Port-Manech is worth visiting and you will find a lovely Glacerie/Creperie there as well as a sailing school.
Nevez itself is the biggest village or small town near the campsite and you will find a very good supermarket there. There is a Tourist Information office at Nevez. There are also some restaurants - details are listed on the tourist office website at http://www.nevez.com/restauration.html There is also a market on Saturday mornings and in summer there is a craft market on Thursday from 16hrs to 20 hrs outside the church.
Those are the main things we found to do within the area around Les Deux Fontaines campsite. Many people will also venture further afield to, for example, the walled town of Concarneau, which is worth a visit if you feel like travelling further afield. You will also want to visit the artist's town of Pont Aven, which I have mentioned on the page about La Pointe St Gilles Campsite in Benodet.
Other Campsites in the Area
If you are looking for other campsites in the area then it might be worth looking at the Raguénès-Plage campsite with Eurocamp. This is a fairly quiet campsite with access to Tahiti Plage across a field. There is a video showing the site on the Eurocamp website. To Link directly to the Raguenes Plage Site Click Here.

The reviews published on the site are intended solely for the
purpose of providing general information and comment and are
purely our opinions. We cannot guarantee that reviews of
descriptions on this site are accurate, up to date or free from
error. We have found that the campsites described are very good but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for. Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including other review sites and Google maps etc.
