Our campsite reviews :

  • Describe onsite facilities,
  • Detail places to visit nearby, and,
  • and discuss how to book or reserve your holiday with tour operators

Please remember that campsites can change in character quite a bit depending on which month you are holidaying. They tend to become full during the months of tent on french campsite July and August when the English and French schools are on holiday. This can make a difference to the numbers of people using the pools and the other facilities.  However on the plus side this can mean that there are more friends for your children to meet and also many campsites only offer their full range of entertainments and children's clubs during the High Season months of July and August.

The size of the site and the numbers of mobile homes, tents and caravans it can take when full will all make a difference to the character of a campsite is like in High Season !  We will try and describe what size some of the sites are. However, again on the plus side, you may find that there are more facilities on a larger site, however as long as the site is also spaciously laid out then that should be fine. Alternatively you may prefer a smaller site. The type of site you probably would want to avoid are ones where there is very little extra space and the plot sizes for caravans, mobile homes and tents are small.

We have found that the campsites described are very good and are some of the top campsites in France but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for.  Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including other review sites and Google maps etc.
