We are John and Jenny Wilson and we have enjoyed some great camping holidays in France with friends and family. We have reviewed some of the best campsites we have stayed at in Brittany, the Loire, the Vendee and Normandy. Hopefully this will help you to find your ideal French camping holiday.

Select "Campsites" from the menu along the top of this page to read reviews and descriptions of the campsites we visited, the activities which are available at these sites and some of the places we visited nearby. 

If tour operators such as Keycamp go to these sites then we have put in easy links to the page for that site on the Keycamp website or to some of the campsites themselves to help you if you want to book or reserve your holiday.

We hope to help you find a great holiday with a taste of the real France, whether you are looking for :

• a relaxing holiday reading books with a glass of wine, or,
• a family holiday with a safe beach, a shallow pool and a children's club, or
• an active holiday for older children, or,
• a sightseeing holiday

We have included a section with the French Language phrases which we have found really useful to help us get by on a typical French Camping holiday.  We have also included a "Books" section with some of our favourite guide books and French phrase books and DVDs etc to help you get the most out of your holiday.

(Translation : Take a ray of sun, a white sand beach, some wine, good food and friends. Combine them all and enjoy !)

We have found that the campsites described are very good but we find that it is difficult to find a campsite which has 100% of what you are looking for.  Also one person may love a busy campsite with lots of activities while someone else may love a quiet campsite with a small swimming pool. Actually we tend to be the latter ! So what we have done is highlight the good points of the sites and maybe point out a few of what we have found as slightly negative points. However we strongly recommend that you make full use of as many internet sources as possible before deciding about your holiday, including other review sites and Google maps etc.
